What the position looks like::

As the leader of our data engineering team, you will own the enhancement and operation of our data and analytics environments which enable eFinancial and Fidelity Life Association to optimize business processes and grow rapidly.  You will partner with the business units and machine learning team to modernize our data infrastructure and processes to support scalable insight generation, and model training and deployment.  You will support the business of today while also enabling future growth.

Responsibilities

What you will contribute:

• Set the strategic direction and provide leadership and management for the data engineering team
• Build out the team to meet the needs of a growing business
• Design and manage end to end cloud data platform built on AWS
• Evaluate the current technology stack and make recommendations for future enhancements
• Establish a culture of data excellence to permeate across the entire technology organization
• Serve as the point of contact with business leaders

Qualifications

What you should bring to the table:

• Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field required
• At least 8 years of experience in Data Engineering
• Proven track record leading successful data engineering teams
• Hands-on experience with AWS services: Lambda, Athena, Redshift Spectrum, Glue, S3, EKS, EC2, EMR, Kinesis, and RDS.
• Ability to effectively communicate the complexity of data infrastructure with clarity and precision to executive leaders with varying levels of familiarity
• Passion for taking ownership of new opportunities and projects
• Passionate Team Player – you thrive in a collaborative environment
• Excellent multi-tasking skills, you are able to shift gears quickly and comfortably
• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD preferred
